Kickstarter Spotlight | Space Park

Alright, I am excited about this Kickstarter for a couple reasons, first, the publisher of this game is actually an alumnus of the college I attended. That may not seem like a big deal to you, but I went to a very small school and having two game designers coming from this school is a big deal. Second, not only did we go to the same school, but I had lunch at the same table as the guy. We never really spoke, but it is one of those fun little coincidences that life can possess. Alright, you aren't here to listen to my thoughts about life and such so let's get down to the game!

Worlds unknown awaits you on your journey to becoming the galaxy's next great explorer! Space Park immediately stops you with its beautiful art and miniatures, you stay for the simplicity of play. Every game will look different at the start as the board is the Starlight Station and six Space Park Destinations randomly placed in the form of a rectangle.

Each location has its own benefit, the interesting mechanic to me is the shared possibility. You can only travel to a location with the rocket on it. Once you have traveled to a location you move the rocket on that space clockwise (skipping over any other rockets in the process). This really requires the players to really pay attention to the board and process, not just the benefits they receive from visiting, but what will open up for the next player.

If you have been following my other posts, you know I am a sucker for simplicity in games, because my real love is the theme. Games have the ability to transport us to new worlds, and this game is no exception. The art is reminiscent of the art deco style travel posters of time past that actually feels futuristic at the same time. My favorite piece is the location titled Lunar Woods. I would love to just get lost in a world that looked like that.

One pledge level at a very good price I knew I had to show you this game, but as always please go check out the campaign and decide if this is something that you want to back. Let me know in the comments below if you do, or if you have played other games from Keymaster Games. Remember you can contact us if you feel there are other games that we should highlight and don't forget to check out other Kickstarter Spotlight posts HERE.

Stay Foolish!
