Kickstarter Spotlight | Nemesis
Running down the tight corridors you fire your last bullets into one of these smaller aliens that have been making your day so difficult. The rest of the crew is dead, but you have the egg and the escape pods aren't far away. You hear alien screams behind you as you exert the last of your energy. You enter a chamber with the only working escape pod, quickly you grab a bag next to the pod doors then press the keystroke that will open the doors to your salvation. ::ERROR::
The doors aren't opening, you slam your fists against the number pad cursing under your breath. Those were the numbers the pilot gave you, they should work. The damn pilot did nothing right on this whole mission.
You slam your gun into the number pad breaking it, sparks fly and alarms go off in the chamber. Tossing your gun aside you beat the door screaming for what feels like forever, time is meaningless. You fall to your knees as the chamber doors fly open behind you, reaching into your pack you pull out a large grenade if this is where you die, then you aren't going alone.
Nemesis is the newest game from game designer Adam Kwapinski (Published by Awaken Realms and Rebel) and I really think you will like it. The game is billed as a 'one-of-a-kind cinematic experience' and the minis alone would support this. The thing that really drew me in happened to be that this game is 'semi-cooperative'. One could say that this is probably the best way to describe life (specifically in a stressful situation). We all aim to be cooperative in our day-to-day, but when you are fighting for survival the base instinct is to at the very least make sure you survive.
The components look amazing, the semi-coop gameplay is intriguing, and the fact that this is for 1-5 players tells me that this game has a LOT of replayability and for a base pledge of $97 you need the replayability. There isn't a lot that I am seeing wrong with this game. You have a seasoned designer, a trusted publisher, an amazing concept, AND it is already funded. If you are looking for a sci-fi game to add to your collection, I think this might be just your thing. You can check out the Kickstarter for yourself and decide, and please let me know if you end up backing this in the comments below!
This game, like many others, has a mature theme so please know that going in. Are there any other games that have caught your eye on Kickstarter so far? Let me know in the comments below!
