“The Apocalypse. Götterdämmerung. Ragnarök. It goes by many names, but in the end, there are only ashes. The heavens have fallen and in their wake, a void beckons to be filled. Mythic Arcana is an epic card and dice game about the creation of a new pantheon from the remains of shattered ones. Choose your gods wisely and use them to battle the opposition. Only one pantheon can reign supreme.”
Mythic Arcana is a set collection and drafting game for 2-4 players. You use dice and tarot-sized cards during gameplay. The first player to obtain a set of gods to represent the five main domains; Heavens, Life, Wisdom, War, and Death will be the winner. The game is being published by Tau Leader Games and this is their 5th campaign.
I stopped chose to check this campaign out because the art is fantastic. As they mention on the page, there are over 70 pieces of individual illustrations! That is a lot of art for one game, and they mention that this has been a project since 2014 because of it. The art on the sample cards they showcase on the KS page is amazing, and I for one want to see all the gods they chose.
The team pulled from various religions in this game. You will find Gods and monsters from Greek, Norse, Hindu, Egypt, and Shinto folklore. The very first game I started designing (which is still sitting on the back burner) was about gods and their interactions with one another. I could only look at designing with a board, because the concept was so vast, so I am also excited about seeing this done with cards. Check out the video to see a little more!
You can check out the KS Page HERE for more information if this seems like something that you would enjoy! Again, for the sheer volume of art, a game like this seems worth it to me! What projects are you watching? What projects are you backing? Let me know in the comments below!
